01 / BEHIND THE GLOVES
From his first gloves to an American dream
Timur grew up in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. Bullied during his early school years, he discovered boxing through a friend of his parents. After witnessing an assault, the friend intervened, encouraged the family to enrol him in a gym and bought his first gloves. Timur was nine.
At 20, he stepped away from competition, partly to reassure his mother, who worried deeply during his fights. He stayed in the sport, coaching young boxers and later MMA fighters. Helping others did not extinguish his desire to compete for himself.
A sparring session in a US boxing gym rekindled that ambition. Supported by his brothers and family, he decided at 30 to give professional boxing a chance. Distance from home, financing his career and finding fights remain challenges, but he did not want to regret never trying.
02 / THE JOURNEY
Boxer, coach, then a new beginning
A three-time Kazakhstan champion, Timur reports an amateur record of 174 wins and 43 losses. His career includes appearances at World Championships in Armenia and Asian Championships in the Philippines.
He recalls later working with fighters including Zhalgas Zhumagulov, Sergey Morozov, Shavkat Rakhmonov and Alibi Idris in Kazakhstan, then with several American Top Team athletes in the United States, including Movsar Evloev, Magomed Umalatov and Edson Barboza.
His professional debut in the United States on 26 October 2024 ended with a first-round knockout. His next two bouts ended the same way. An orthodox boxer, he trains with Igor Egorychev at ATLANT. He likes aggressive boxing, exchanges and the “Big Drama Show” spirit associated with Gennady Golovkin.
Beyond the ring, he wants to provide for his family and help younger athletes avoid obstacles he has faced. His future gym would welcome everyone, not only potential champions. He wants to be remembered as an honest boxer who gave everything in every fight.
