İsmail “Crow” Yazıcı: learning to choose his moment

Before looking for the right moment to punch, İsmail Hakkı Yazıcı had to find a direction for his energy. In the questionnaire he shared with Tunal Group, “Crow” recalls moving from basketball to boxing, the interruptions along the way and the people who helped him keep going. Alongside his sporting ambitions is a concrete goal: building a better life for his mother and himself.

Back in the ring in Istanbul

İsmail will return to the ring on 13 December 2026 at Tunal Group’s event in Istanbul. It is a new date to look forward to for those following his journey and his progress with the team.

Finding a direction

İsmail describes Antalya as his anchor. Beyond the Mediterranean city’s familiar image, he recalls growing up in a difficult environment, his attachment to basketball and the need to stand up for himself. Walking into a boxing gym gave him a place to turn that energy into regular work.

In his account, the sport gradually became more than an outlet. Preparation, the demands of the ring and the desire to improve gave him a direction. What he wants to build now reaches beyond the next exchange or the next fight.

Watch first, then accelerate

Crow describes himself as a patient boxer: reading his opponent’s habits, holding something back and accelerating when an opening appears. He connects that approach to a personal change towards greater calm, awareness and control.

He also speaks openly about fear. For him, courage means staying focused and doing the work despite it. That distinction helps explain what he wants to bring into the ring: an intensity he chooses, rather than constantly reacting to emotion.

Trust takes time

Family difficulties, financial pressures and a long interruption are part of the journey he shared with us. He recalls sometimes trying to step away from boxing without being able to let go of his identity as a boxer.

He met Tunal Group at his training gym. İsmail remembers the opportunities, but also the guidance and the team’s presence through difficult periods. In his account, a camp abroad remains an important moment in that sense of belonging.

Move forward, then offer a hand

His mother is central to his motivation. He wants a more stable life for both of them. Belts are among his ambitions, alongside a life close to nature: a farm, horses and greater freedom.

He also wants to help other boxers when he has the means. Receiving support made him want to pass it on. That connection between ambition, family responsibility and care for the next generation gives Crow’s journey its own character. For a business interested in supporting him, the conversation begins with that story and the preparation to build with the team.
